When you start your search for your prom shoes you will, no doubt, already have your fabulous dream dress. It’s so important to get the shoes just right. The wrong shoes can simply ruin the whole look - so choose carefully. There’s nothing worse than seeing a beautiful, multi-coloured, floaty dress, finished off with a pair of low heeled black court shoes! Don’t go there girls…!

First of all, decide on the colour. If your dress has diamantes, or silver trims, and so on, then silver prom shoes are obviously a must. The length of the dress can have a great effect on the style of the prom shoes, for example if your dress is full length, you should really opt for high heel prom shoes, to give you height and elegance. If your dress is quite short, go for strappy sandals. We have provided a “Coloured Shoes by Heel Height” section for those of you who know exactly the heel height you need.

And if you can’t find just the right colour why not consider having shoes dyed to match? You can have a pair of prom shoes and a handbag dyed to completely co-ordinate the whole look!

If you have a full length dress an important tip when choosing your prom shoes is to stay away from shoes which have diamantes attached by claws. They are almost certain to attach to your dress and you don’t want any disasters on the night!

The choice is, of course, yours, but another, very important factor to consider is comfort! Don’t leave it until the last minute to purchase your prom shoes. You need time to “break them in” before actually wearing them on the night!
